What is the Machenike G5 Pro polling rate on PC?
The original G5 Pro is a 500 Hz pad on a cable and a 140 to 250 Hz pad on its dongle. The G5 Pro V2 reaches about 1000 Hz on both, which is the figure retailers quote. But on every G-series Machenike gamepadla has tested both ways, the dongle was 8 to 17 ms slower on buttons than the cable, even when it polled faster. Only the F1 closes that gap.
The original Machenike G5 Pro polls at about 500 Hz on PC over a cable, about 140 to 250 Hz on its 2.4G dongle and about 67 Hz over Bluetooth. Gamepadla measured 469.26 Hz, 182.5 Hz and 66.69 Hz, with button latency of 10.98, 19.52 and 29.37 ms. The 1000 Hz figure belongs to the G5 Pro V2, which measured 796.62 Hz on the cable and 986.21 Hz on the dongle. If you play wired in XInput mode, any current G-series pad gets you about 1000 Hz. If you play on the dongle, expect 8 to 17 ms more on buttons whatever the polling reads.

Test details: G5 Pro, firmware 0240125, 28 April 2024. G5 Pro V2, firmware 1.38, 3 and 4 February 2025. G5 Pro Max SE, firmware 1.41, 7 February 2025. G1 Pro, firmware 1.28, 21 January 2025. G6 Pro V2, firmware 1.0.8, 30 October 2025. G6 Pro, 31 October 2024. G3 V2, firmware 1.25, 28 January 2025. G3s, 21 May 2024. F1, firmware 1.34, 6 January 2026. F1 Black, firmware 1.38, 12 September 2026. Gamepadla also lists a G5 Pro Max and a G6, but with software polling tests only, so we left them out. The G6 Pro's dongle has polling tests only: three in February 2025 read 2000 Hz.
Why both 500 and 1000 Hz circulate
There are two G5 Pros. The original, tested in 2024 on two firmware versions by two testers, never measured above 502.51 Hz on the cable in XInput mode except one software reading of 1000 Hz, and its dongle read 140.15 to 250 Hz in XInput mode. The G5 Pro V2 is the pad reviews describe as 1000 Hz, and gamepadla's testers read 794.72 to 1000 Hz on its cable and 929.45 to 1000 Hz on its dongle. If your listing does not say V2, assume the lower figures.
The same split runs through the range. The G3s measured 495.55 Hz wired and 125.78 Hz on its dongle, while the newer G3 V2 measured 991.01 Hz on both. Every G-series pad tested since late 2024 measured 796.62 to 1000 Hz on the cable in its primary test, five of the six above 990 Hz.
The dongle polls at 1000 Hz and still costs 8 ms
Here is what the polling figure hides. The G5 Pro V2's dongle polled faster than its cable, 986.21 against 796.62 Hz, so the half-interval rule on our polling rate page predicts the dongle about 0.12 ms faster (derived). It measured 9.69 ms slower on buttons and 21.69 ms slower on sticks.
That is not one bad unit. Dongle minus cable, same tester and firmware for each pad (derived):
| Controller | Buttons (ms) | Sticks (ms) |
|---|---|---|
| G6 Pro V2 | 8.00 | 22.40 |
| G3 V2 (GPDL) | 8.34 | 23.01 |
| G1 Pro | 8.39 | 21.64 |
| G5 Pro (GPDL) | 8.54 | - |
| G5 Pro V2 | 9.69 | 21.69 |
| G5 Pro Max SE (GPDL) | 15.06 | - |
| G3s (GPDL) | 16.63 | - |
| F1 Black | 0.56 | 1.03 |
| F1 | 1.00 | 0.24 |
Across the seven G-series pads the median button penalty is 8.54 ms, and the four with stick tests on both links all land between 21.64 and 23.01 ms. The two largest button gaps are on pads whose dongles also ran at a lower rate, 497.27 and 125.78 Hz. For comparison, the median dongle penalty on our Flydigi polling rate page is 1.10 ms, and the smallest on our GameSir polling rate page is 2.08 ms. A Machenike G-series dongle is slower than either.
The F1: about 8000 Hz, and the dongle keeps up
Technetbook's launch report gives the F1 8000 Hz over USB and 2.4 GHz, with wired button latency of 0.377 ms and stick latency of 0.825 ms, and a setting down to 125 Hz to save battery. Gamepadla's primary tester measured 7790.11 Hz on the cable and 5940.82 Hz on the dongle, with buttons at 1.27 and 2.27 ms and sticks at 1.59 and 1.83 ms. A second tester on firmware 1.40 read 3278.69 and 2808.99 Hz, with every result between 1.17 and 2.01 ms. Wired stick tests by four testers ranged from 0.45 to 1.59 ms. Gamepadla's own notes say a software polling test can read below 8000 Hz because of OS jitter or CPU scheduling without the hardware latency changing, which fits the lower readings.
The F1 Black, tested on firmware 1.38 in September 2026, measured 1.23 and 2.19 ms on the cable and 1.79 and 3.22 ms on the dongle. That puts both F1s level with the 8K pads on our Razer Wolverine polling rate page.
XInput, DInput and Switch mode on the cable
Only XInput gets the full rate. Tested on the cable by the same tester on the same day:
- G1 Pro: XInput 995.79 Hz, 4.94 ms buttons, 4.62 ms sticks. DInput 205.15 Hz, 12.09 and 18.41 ms. Switch mode 124.97 Hz, 17.34 and 23.64 ms.
- G5 Pro Max SE (GPDL): XInput 997.01 Hz, 2.21 ms. DInput 200 Hz, 5.61 ms. Switch mode 125 Hz, 18.56 ms.
- F1: XInput 7790.11 Hz, 1.27 and 1.59 ms. Switch mode 124.98 Hz, 21.44 and 22.42 ms.
Switch mode cost the F1 20.17 ms on buttons (derived), which turns the fastest pad here into one slower on buttons than a stock Microsoft pad on our Xbox controller polling rate page (6.50 ms on a cable).
Where this stops applying
Each row is one unit on one firmware, measured by a volunteer tester, and differences under a millisecond sit inside gamepadla's margin. GPDL and Prometheus 82 rows use different methods, so compare within a row type where you can. Results also move between tests of the same pad: on the G5 Pro V2, one tester measured 2.27 ms and 10.66 ms on buttons wired, on the same firmware and the same day, and gamepadla gives no reason. The original G5 Pro rows date from April 2024. Polling says nothing about stick precision, which comes down to the sensor and your deadzone.
What to do
- Any G-series Machenike on PC: play wired in XInput mode. Current models measured about 1000 Hz and 1.4 to 6.1 ms on buttons.
- Do not choose the dongle for its polling figure: at about 1000 Hz it still added 8.00 to 9.69 ms on buttons and about 22 ms on sticks.
- Want wireless without the penalty: the F1 or F1 Black, whose dongles were within 1.03 ms of the cable.
- Avoid DInput and Switch mode on PC: about 200 Hz and 125 Hz, and 3.4 to 20.2 ms slower on buttons.
- Buying a G5 Pro: check it says V2. The original measured about 470 Hz wired and 180 Hz on the dongle.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Machenike G5 Pro 1000 Hz?
The original G5 Pro is not. Gamepadla measured it at 469.26 Hz on a cable, 182.5 Hz on the dongle and 66.69 Hz over Bluetooth, with button latency of 10.98, 19.52 and 29.37 ms. The G5 Pro V2 is: it measured 796.62 Hz on the cable and 986.21 Hz on the dongle, and other tests read 794.72 to 1000 Hz wired.
Is the Machenike dongle slower than the cable?
Yes, on every G-series pad tested both ways. The gap on buttons ran from 8.00 ms (G6 Pro V2) to 16.63 ms (G3s), median 8.54 ms, and on sticks from 21.64 to 23.01 ms. The F1 is the exception: its dongle was within 1.03 ms of the cable on buttons and sticks, in tests of both the F1 and the F1 Black.
Does the Machenike F1 really poll at 8000 Hz?
Close to it in one tester's results: 7790.11 Hz on the cable and 5940.82 Hz on the dongle, with buttons at 1.27 and 2.27 ms and sticks at 1.59 and 1.83 ms. Another tester on newer firmware read 3278.69 and 2808.99 Hz, with latency still under 2.1 ms. Gamepadla notes that software polling readings can fall short of 8000 Hz because of OS jitter or CPU scheduling.
Which mode should a Machenike controller use on PC?
XInput. On the cable, DInput mode measured about 200 Hz and Switch mode about 125 Hz on every pad tested. On the G1 Pro, DInput added 7.15 ms on buttons and 13.79 ms on sticks over XInput, and Switch mode 12.40 and 19.02 ms.
What is the Machenike G5 Pro V2 Bluetooth polling rate?
Gamepadla measured 121.41 Hz over Bluetooth in XInput mode, with 17.88 ms on buttons and 27.42 ms on sticks. Across five Machenike pads tested over Windows Bluetooth in XInput mode, polling ran from 66.69 to 155.88 Hz and button latency from 17.01 to 40.98 ms.
