What is the EasySMX X20 polling rate on PC?
1000 Hz on the cable and 1000 Hz on the 2.4G dongle, exactly as EasySMX says. The catch is what the second 1000 Hz buys: gamepadla measured the X20's buttons at 4.23 ms wired and 13.7 ms on the dongle. That 9 to 10 ms gap shows up on almost every EasySMX pad tested both ways. Only the Dune 8K closes it.
The EasySMX X20 polls at 1000 Hz on PC over its cable and over its 2.4G dongle. Gamepadla measured exactly 1000 Hz on both under Windows 10, which is the figure on the box. It is not the same result twice: average button latency was 4.23 ms on the cable and 13.69 ms on the dongle, a gap of 9.46 ms (derived). With EasySMX, the polling rate decides less than the link does, and the cable wins on every model except the Dune 8K.

X05, firmware 1.0.240620, 22 September 2024. X15, firmware 2.17, 23 and 26 September 2024. 9013 Pro, 5 October 2024. D05, firmware 1.0.0, 17 April 2025. Stated figures are from EasySMX's pages for the Dune 8K and D10, its X15 support page, its X20 launch post (1000 Hz, no link named; the wired and dongle split is from PC Games Hardware), and the X05 Pro specification as reprinted in The Outer Haven's review.
1000 Hz on the dongle, and still 9 ms slower
EasySMX's spec line for the X05 Pro is "1000Hz in 2.4GHz Wireless and Wired, 125Hz-250Hz in Bluetooth", and the X20 and D10 are sold on the same 1000 Hz. On all three the first half is true: each dongle measured within 1% of its cable's rate. PC Games Hardware, writing up the X20 after Linus Tech Tips made it the controller people search for, says the 1000 Hz on cable or dongle means latency is "deutlich reduziert" (significantly reduced). The rig disagrees on the dongle. At 1000 Hz the mean wait for the next report is 0.5 ms on either link (derived, from the half-interval rule on our polling rate page), so a 9 ms gap at the same rate sits in the wireless path, not in polling.
| Controller | Cable (Hz) | Dongle (Hz) | Dongle costs (ms) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dune 8K | 7254 | 3071.54 | 0.66 |
| X05 Pro | 987.17 | 979.43 | 5.55 |
| 9013 Pro (GPDL) | 71.41 | 71.35 | 7.60 |
| X15 (GPDL) | 615.31 | 138.75 | 9.03 |
| X05 (GPDL) | 917.79 | 231.85 | 9.18 |
| D10 | 1000 | 1001 | 9.27 |
| X20 | 1000 | 1000 | 9.46 |
| X10 (GPDL) | 931.27 | 242.53 | 10.91 |
The median is 9.1 ms, and it barely depends on whether the dongle keeps the cable's rate: the X20 and D10 at 1000 Hz cost 9.46 and 9.27 ms, the X05 and X10 at about 240 Hz cost 9.18 and 10.91. The X20 result is not one bad session either. A different tester on gamepadla's older electrical rig, firmware 1.18, Windows 11, got 3.06 ms on the cable and 12.93 ms on the dongle in January 2025, a 9.87 ms gap (derived). Sticks are worse: the X20 measured 14.31 ms wired and 34.02 ms on the dongle, and the X05 Pro 13.6 against 35.8. For scale, a wired Xbox Series controller at 125 Hz measured 6.50 ms on buttons, so an X20 on its dongle is slower than Microsoft's pad on a cable. GameSir's current dongles (G7 Pro 8K, G7 Pro, Stargazer, Cyclone 2) cost 2.08 to 5.00 ms, on our GameSir polling rate page.
The X15 and the older dongles: 139 to 243 Hz
The X15 support page is the one EasySMX page we found with a figure for each link, and it does not promise 1000 Hz wireless. It lists 1000 Hz wired, 250 Hz on the 2.4G dongle and 125 Hz over Bluetooth. Gamepadla's unit measured under all three: 615.31 Hz on the cable, 138.75 Hz on the dongle and 89.66 Hz over Bluetooth in XInput. DInput was no better (157.29 Hz cable, 138.69 Hz dongle). The X10 and X05 dongles land near the 250 Hz class at 242.53 and 231.85 Hz, while both run above 900 Hz on a cable. The 9013 Pro is a different product altogether: about 71 Hz on every link, buttons 13.5 ms even wired.
The Dune 8K: not 8000 Hz on the dongle, and it does not matter
EasySMX's product page promises "up to 8000Hz polling rate in both wired and wireless dongle modes", and its own polling rate explainer repeats it, with a table of report intervals (8 ms at 125 Hz, 0.125 ms at 8000 Hz) and no measurement. Gamepadla measured 7254 Hz on the cable, close to the claim, and 3071.54 Hz on the dongle, well short of it. The dongle still delivered 2.18 ms on buttons and 8.22 ms on sticks. Those 2.18 ms beat every other EasySMX pad on a cable in a Prometheus 82 test (the best, the X20, measured 4.23 ms), and only 0.66 ms behind its own cable, inside gamepadla's plus or minus 1 ms margin. The half-interval rule says 3071 instead of 8000 Hz costs about 0.1 ms (derived). So the Dune 8K's real advantage is the wireless path, not the headline rate.
Bluetooth and the other modes
Over Bluetooth in XInput, nine models measured 65.24 to 227.84 Hz, and buttons took 14.5 to 29.9 ms on the eight with a latency test (the D05 test reads polling only). EasySMX's "125Hz-250Hz" holds for four of them, the X05, D10, Dune 8K and S10. The other five fell below 125 Hz: the X20 (105.59), X10 (120.07), X15 (89.66), D05 (88.89) and 9013 Pro (65.24). Switch mode over Bluetooth polled faster on four pads (X05 450.84 Hz, D10 435.92, X05 Pro 337.61, X10 328.73) and was still 12.7 to 15.2 ms on buttons. On the cable, Switch mode held about 125 Hz on the X20, X15, X05 Pro and S10, with X20 buttons at 25.81 ms against 3.06 ms in XInput on the same session. DInput on the cable cut the D10 to 100.33 Hz and its sticks to 80.1 ms. On PC, keep an EasySMX pad in XInput.
One oddity: the D10 is the only pad here with sticks faster than buttons on the cable, 3.90 against 8.33 ms. Gamepadla does not explain it, so neither will we. If you bought a D10 for its TMR sticks, that is the half that measured well; our Hall effect sticks page covers why magnetic sticks are bought for drift, not speed.
Where this stops applying
Each row is one unit on one firmware, and gamepadla gives its rig a margin of plus or minus 1 ms, so the Dune 8K's dongle gap is inside it. GPDL rows use an older electrical tester and are not directly comparable with Prometheus 82 rows; compare within a row type. The X15, X05, X10 and 9013 Pro results are from 2024 and early 2025, and firmware may have changed them since. The D05 test reads polling only, so it says nothing about its latency. Everything is Windows on PC. Dongle results also depend on placement: a USB 3.0 port beside the receiver can raise the noise floor, as our USB 3.0 interference page shows.
What to do
- Use the cable on any EasySMX pad except the Dune 8K. On seven of eight pads tested both ways the dongle was 5.55 to 10.91 ms slower on buttons, median 9.1.
- Do not read "1000 Hz wired and 2.4G" as "same latency". The X20 and D10 deliver the rate on the dongle and still lose about 9 ms.
- If you want to play wireless, the Dune 8K is the EasySMX that does it: 2.18 ms on the dongle, even at 3072 Hz rather than 8000.
- Expect less than the X15's stated figures: 615 Hz wired and 139 Hz on the dongle in the one test published.
- Stay in XInput. Switch mode on a cable dropped the X20 to 125 Hz and 25.81 ms on buttons.
Frequently asked questions
Is the EasySMX X20 1000 Hz?
Yes, on the cable and the dongle. Gamepadla measured 1000 Hz on both under Windows 10 in April 2026, with average button latency of 4.23 ms wired and 13.69 ms on the dongle, and sticks at 14.31 and 34.02 ms. Over Bluetooth an earlier test measured 105.59 Hz and 24.71 ms on buttons.
What is the EasySMX X15 polling rate?
EasySMX's X15 support page gives 1000 Hz wired, 250 Hz on the 2.4G dongle and 125 Hz over Bluetooth. Gamepadla measured less on every link: 615.31 Hz on the cable, 138.75 Hz on the dongle and 89.66 Hz over Bluetooth, all in XInput mode on firmware 2.17.
Is the EasySMX dongle as fast as the cable?
No, except on the Dune 8K. On seven of the eight EasySMX pads gamepadla tested both ways, the dongle was 5.55 to 10.91 ms slower on buttons, median 9.1 ms. The Dune 8K's dongle was 0.66 ms slower, inside the rig's margin of error.
Does the EasySMX Dune 8K really poll at 8000 Hz?
Close to it on the cable, not on the dongle. Gamepadla measured 7254 Hz wired and 3071.54 Hz on the 2.4G dongle, against EasySMX's claim of up to 8000 Hz in both modes. Latency was still the best of any EasySMX pad: 1.52 ms wired and 2.18 ms on the dongle.
What polling rate does an EasySMX controller run over Bluetooth?
In XInput mode, 65 to 228 Hz across nine models, and five of the nine measured under 125 Hz. Buttons took 14.5 to 29.9 ms. EasySMX states 125 to 250 Hz for the X05 Pro. Switch mode over Bluetooth can poll faster (435.92 Hz on the D10) but was still 15.2 ms on buttons.
